Our mission is to support our community through accessible music education, quality gear, and opportunities to learn and perform. We help students find their sound by teaching real songs first, then building the skills and confidence that carry them forward.

The Burkdall Music Center is dedicated to making music accessible for everyone in our community. Our focus is on creating opportunities for students to learn, perform, and connect. We support local families, musicians, and businesses through a welcoming space where people can learn, play, and find their sound. We use a song‑first approach that gets students playing real music right away, then build the theory and technique behind it to help them grow with confidence.
Richard Burkdall brings decades of his own musical experience to the center. He has been playing guitar since 1996 and bass since 1999, performing in multiple bands since the 1990’s, and actively teaching guitar since 2011. His background includes retail music industry experience at Guitar Center, along with years spent teaching elementary and middle school where he often providing guitar lessons to students after class. As a veteran‑owned business, Richard started The Burkdall Music Center to combine his musical skills, teaching expertise, and industry knowledge into a place where students can explore music, grow confidently, and be part of a stronger, connected community.
